This
historical biography traces the life of William John Little,
born with a clubfoot deformity, who overcame adversity and through
keen observation connected the cause of birth defects with pre
and post-natal problems. He was a pioneer in the diagnosis and
treatment of children with cerebral palsy; founder of the first
orthopedic hospital in Great Britain; author of five books on
orthopedic problems such as clubfoot, scoliosis, ankylosis, amputations
and orthopedic surgery; he was dubbed "The Apostle of Tenotomy";
and for 24 years served at the London Hospital as a physician,
educator and lecturer.
The author spent almost six years involved in preparation of this
book including two trips to England for on-site research.
